The Linux Foundation
The Linux Foundation is a globally recognized non-profit technology consortium founded in 2000. It acts as a neutral, global home for the world's most critical open-source software, standards, and cloud-native projects, providing infrastructure, legal framework, and governance at global scale.
Among its many initiatives, the Foundation coordinates premier global tech events, summits, and developer conferences across the USA, Japan, Europe, and worldwide. Each event handles hundreds of speaker applications, multi-track scheduling, attendee registration, and vendor coordination.

02: The Challenge
Global events. Manual everything.
The event management teams were spending countless hours on repetitive tasks that occurred almost daily across their global operations. Every event, every country, every time zone, the same manual processes, repeated by different people.
Manual Sessionize downloads
Teams had to manually download multiple CSV files from Sessionize for each event, speaker applications, session data, and evaluation scores.
Manual data processing
Downloaded files required manual uploading into Google Sheets, reformatting, and cross-referencing before any useful analysis could begin.
Manual statistical analysis
Speaker evaluation scores needed to be compiled, averaged, ranked, and analyzed by hand for selection decisions.
Manual Sched uploads
Approved speaker lists had to be downloaded from Sheets and manually uploaded to Sched.com to trigger notifications.
Manual fraud detection
Identifying suspicious attendee registrations through Cvent required a separate, manual checking process, one event at a time.
The compounding cost
These weren't one-time tasks. They were repeated by multiple teams worldwide on an almost daily basis. For every event, every country, every time zone, the same five-step manual process. The cumulative time loss across the organization was staggering.
03: The Solution
One Google Sheet. Four APIs. Zero manual steps.
Flowbetta developed a comprehensive automation platform using Google Apps Script that seamlessly integrated all essential event management tools into a single, unified workflow, accessible to every team member worldwide.

04: The Impact
A system they call "a work of art."
While saving 20+ hours per month for a single event organization cycle, the true organizational impact is even larger: this system is actively used to run major developer conferences and summits across the globe—including the United States, Japan, Europe, and Asia.
20h+
Saved Per Event Team
Reclaimed monthly per event in speaker evaluation, data synchronization, and session scheduling.
Global
Scale Across Continents
Standardized operations across conferences in the US, Europe, Japan, and Asia.
3+
Years in Production
Continuously used daily since 2022 across multiple simultaneous global events.
4
Projects Delivered
The client expanded into four separate automation systems based on demonstrated results.
Worldwide Multiplier Effect
The 20+ hours/month savings is measured for one event organization team. Because The Linux Foundation organizes conferences and summits continuously worldwide—across the United States, Europe, Japan, and Asia—the cumulative efficiency gain across all global event teams multiplies to hundreds of hours of administrative time saved every year.
"You have no idea how much time this has saved us, and we use it constantly, almost daily. This is truly a work of art."
- Cody Galloway, Event Manager
★★★★★
"I hired Joseph to help automate some very complicated, time-consuming tasks with Google Sheets. He was very responsive, never missed a deadline, and was very easy to communicate with. After understanding my needs, he also made proactive suggestions on how he could make things even better than I first imagined. I have come back to him now for four different projects and will continue to leverage his expertise.
